WSC Registration &
Training Fees
REGISTRATION
FEES
USA Registration
Fee
This is a $56.00 annual
registration fee paid to USA Swimming and Oregon Swimming. It
covers membership fees in both organizations and insurance coverage
for the swimmer.
WSC Registration
Fee
Each new swimmer pays a
$35.00 registration fee. Returning swimmers pay a $25.00 annual fee
by October 1st.
If a swimmer takes a
break during a season and is gone for more than a full calendar
month, he/she will be required to pay a $35.00 re-registration
fee.
Without written notice
of a break, full dues are expected to be paid for each month the
swimmer is absent.
NOTE:
Both fees are due at the end of the tryout period.
TRAINING
FEES
Monthly training fees are due on or before the 15th of
each month. For your convenience, you may put your payments in the
Black Box located inside the Pool Lifeguard Office at the east end
of the pool – no cash should be placed in the box, or
mail check with invoice to WSC PO box 633, Springfield,
OR 97477.
PreTeam payments are due upon registration each session and are
paid to Willamalane Parks & Recreation District. (WPRD then
reimburses WSC)
Prompt payments will ensure that your swimmer won’t miss
practice time. WSC reserves the right to keep a swimmer out of
practice until training fees are paid.

Family Time &
Fundraising Commitments
WSC is a non-profit team operated entirely by the efforts of
parents.
Family participation and income from fundraising & sponsorships
are necessary for the team to continue providing the best
experience and training for our swimmers. While training fees cover
coaches’ salaries, there are other expenses such as pool
rentals, training equipment and meet supplies that require
financial support.
Operating the team and running swim meets would be impossible
without the involvement of the WSC parents. Therefore, all families
are expected to assist with team duties and with fundraising
activities as explained below.
FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT
Families are required to meet a minimum fundraising commitment
amount.

A family will not be required to raise more than $300.00 regardless
of the number of swimmers.
The team organizes events throughout the year to make reaching the
commitment level as easy as possible. These events include the
Autzen Stadium concession stand during football season (short
course season) and the Swim-A-Thon in the Spring (long course
season). Additional fundraisers may be organized throughout the
year.
Fundraising commitments are satisfied by the amount WSC receives as
profit, not necessarily the sales amount. For example, if a candle
sale is held and the candle sells for $10, but WSC receives $3 for
each candle sold, then the $3 per candle would be applied to your
commitment. Swim-A-Thon funds and any acquired corporate
sponsorship funds will count dollar for dollar toward the
fundraising commitment.
Families not fulfilling their commitment level by the end of the
swim season will be billed for the amount not
satisfied.
FAMILY TIME COMMITMENT
All families must assist the team by contributing time toward
running meets and/or performing duties. The minimum number of hours
required of families is based on the team on which the swimmer(s)
participate as shown below:

The commitment for families with more than one swimmer will be
based on the highest-level swimmer only. For instance, a family
with an Age Group swimmer and a Novice swimmer would have a 40 hour
total time commitment.
These hours can be earned by helping out the team in a variety of
duties at the swim meets WSC hosts or co-hosts. WSC hosts three
meets per year (January, April/May & October), as well as
co-hosting a June invitational meet with other Eugene area teams
(MOST).
In addition to these, WSC is the co-host of the High School
District Championships every February. We also have the opportunity
to occasionally host the Oregon Swimming’s 10 & Under
Championships. To encourage parent support for WSC-hosted
championship meets, all parent hours worked at the High School
District Championships and the OSI 10 & Under Championships
will be credited at time and a half. For instance, a parent
volunteering 6 hours at H.S. Districts will be credited 9 hours
toward the family commitment time.
Volunteers should report the time they work by completing a report
form (available from the department chair or person in charge) and
placing it in the Black Box inside the Lifeguard Office on the east
side of the pool. Time will be recorded and the form kept on file
for reference.
Families that do not fulfill their time commitment level by the end
of the swim season will be billed $15.00 for each hour not
satisfied.
WSC recognizes unforeseen circumstances arise and families may have
difficulty fulfilling time commitments. If this occurs, families
are encouraged to make a written request to the Board. The Board
will consider the request and take appropriate action.
Commitment hours are separate from
fundraising commitment. Fundraising in excess of the minimum amount may
not be applied to the family time commitment, nor can family time
contributed above the minimum level be used to satisfy fundraising
amounts.
